Present Traces Of A Past Existence - A Photographic Research

Study of the Diaries of Etty Hillesum (10.01.1914 Middelburg - 29.11.1943 Auschwitz). Starting from Etty’s descriptions, I follow the new present story of her journey, places and atmospheres she writes about, combined with the photographic and archived material we rely upon. This is an attempt to tell a past and present story, to give importance to the social function of subjectivity and the narration of a self experience which needs to be shared.
