This project is a retrospective. Seven years ago I took photographs of my friends making music for the first time. In the beginning it was just the three of them and the band had no name. They went on to call themselves by their surnames: AnnenMayKantereit. This is not a project about fame. This is a project about coming of age. A project about friendship. A project about loss and growth. About holding together and being on the road. This is my experience. These are my friends. They became famous and this is our life now. Nothing changed. Everything changed. The locations, they are constantly changing and always buzzing. We are never at home.
